A beach promenade as a liminal space between the city and the sea in Ashdod

Project Name

Lido Ashdod Palm Beach

The coastal area is a liminal space, as Turner defined it. It unleashes an atmosphere of freedom. It is a space that allows for daily transactions – people walking in bathing suits, laying on the sand, swimming in the sea.

In other ways, the coastline can be defined as a transitional space, according to Winnicott, straddling between reality and fantasy, freedom and daily life, the sea and the city.
Lido Ashdod Palm Beach offers a liminal transitional space, designed as an abstract space – which corresponds in a form, on a scale, and in materials with the horizon and the sea.
